Case Study:
I had a client who needed a new look for his company.
All the details he had in mind were 4 colours - dark
blue, red, white and black, the rest was left to me.
After long discussions we decided that an advertising
campaign was needed along with a new corporate identity.
I drew several designs manually, we met up and discussed
them.
My client decided on quite a simple logo with text over
the top, so off I went to my Imac and produced it on
Photoshop and In Design. The logo was in the colours
of dark and light blue and white whith red and black
text. It worked beautifully. My client was "over
the moon" with it.
We then got together and discussed the much needed advertising
campaign. He wanted the same colours as the logo for
the layout. His requirements were:- a full colour leaflet
- double sided, an eight page brochure, a flyer and
a business card.
I drew two layouts for the leaflet, both had 2 colours,
2 large graphics in the background and 3 small graphics
in front, with loads of text. The logo was placed in
the top right hand corner.
My client preferred the second layout because the larger
graphics were more colourful. We decided that this was
the layout to be used for the brochure and flyer as
well, but obviously with different graphics and text,
but the same colours. The four inside pages were to
be in monochrome but everything else to be in full colour
using glossy paper.
He gave me a deadline of three weeks from beginning
to end, I managed to design everything in 15 days flat!
After seeing my print outs, he decided that he wanted
me to print out 3000 leaflets, 1000 brochures and flyers
and 5000 business cards!
Brilliant, I enjoyed working with him.
